Freddie Mac Joins NAHB to Honor Excellence in Multifamily Housing

Freddie Mac joined the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in honoring the winners of the 2003 NAHB Pillars of Industry Awards. Considered among the most prestigious in the industry, the national awards reward excellence in multifamily development, design, marketing and management.

Top honors are given in 28 categories, including the Freddie Mac Multifamily Development Firm of the Year, Property Management Company of the Year, and Project of the Year. As one of the nation's largest investors in multifamily housing, Freddie Mac sponsored this year's awards gala.

When presenting the Development Firm of the Year Award to the Southern California Housing Development Corporation, Adrian Corbiere, senior vice president and head of Freddie Mac's Multifamily Division, told attendees that Freddie Mac is pleased to be a partner in celebrating the great work being done nationwide by apartment and condominium developers. "Our new Chairman and CEO Richard F. Syron has reinvigorated the entire company's focus on our affordable housing mission. Day in and day out, our goal is to ensure that you have access to the funds you need to create multifamily housing, especially for those families who have to stretch to put a roof over their heads."

Freddie Mac is committed to developing new products and processes to keep the cost of financing rental housing down while providing superior service and innovation. Consistently, more than 90 percent of Freddie Mac's multifamily investments make quality rental housing available to families with incomes at or below area median. In total, the company has helped make affordable rental housing possible for more than two million families.

The NAHB is the largest association in the nation representing the residential building industry. For more information, visit www.nahb.org.
