Freddie Mac Honored for Multicultural Outreach

Freddie Mac was recently honored by three minority organizations – the National Congress of Vietnamese Americans, the National League of Cities' Hispanic Elected Local Officials and the National Organization of Black County Officials – a testament to our multicultural community involvement.

During the annual Congressional Black Caucus Convention, The National Organization of Black County Officials presented Freddie Mac with the Corporate Leadership award in recognition of our effective housing initiatives. The award is bestowed on corporations and organizations making a positive impact in area communities. Freddie Mac received a similar award from the National Association of Counties earlier this year.

Dwight Robinson, senior vice president of Corporate Relations and Housing Outreach, and Preston Lee, Industry Relations director were on hand to receive the award. "This award serves as a significant demonstration of the breadth of our mission's success. It is a representation of local leaders who are able to identify and acknowledge the impression this company has had in their communities," said Robinson.

Freddie Mac also received a Corporate Citizen's Award at the National Congress of Vietnamese Americans (NCVA) 20th anniversary gala. Freddie Mac’s support of hurricane recovery efforts, the creation of affordable housing and efforts to establish sustainable communities, were efforts that got the organization’s attention.

Additionally, Freddie Mac receive an award from the National League of Cities' Hispanic Elected Local Officials organization for our outstanding contributions to the organization. Freddie Mac recently presented a CreditSmart briefing to the Hispanic Elected Local Officials focusing on the importance of financial education in the community.
