FREDDIE MAC TO ISSUE FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR FIRST AND SECOND QUARTERS OF 2005 ON
AUGUST 31, 2005

McLean, VA – Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE) today announced that the company will release its financial results for the first and second quarters of 2005 following the NYSE market close on Wednesday, August 31, 2005.

The company will hold a conference call at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, to discuss the company's results. Prior to the conference call, investors are encouraged to review the company's press release, consolidated financial statements, core tables and accompanying slide presentation to be used during the conference call to acquaint the public with the company's financial results. The press release, slide presentation and other materials will be available on the company's Web site at, www.freddiemac.com/investors following the market close.
