Keeping the Dream Alive

On June 1, 2007, the Houston Business Journal ran a commentary [PDF 114K] by Edmund Buckley, president elect of the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers, about the recent subprime issue affecting families. He called for a number of fixes to the system including doing "more to make sure homebuyers have the financial literacy they need to be successful." He also commended Freddie Mac for "tighten[ing] its subprime lending standards without any outside urging."
