Single Family Credit Guarantee Business
Donald J. Bisenius was named executive vice president of the Single Family Credit Guarantee Business at Freddie Mac in May 2009. In this capacity, he oversees the sourcing, pricing, and securitization of new business as well as the overall management of the outstanding credit guarantee portfolio. He is part of the company's leadership team and reports to Chief Operating Officer Bruce M. Witherell.
In his current capacity, Bisenius is accountable for the overall performance of Freddie Mac's $1.8 trillion single family credit guarantee business.
Previously, Bisenius served as senior vice president of the Single Family Credit Guarantee Business. From 1997 until 2008, Bisenius was senior vice president for Credit Policy and Portfolio Management. In that role, he managed the overall mortgage credit and counterparty risk exposure for Freddie Mac.
Bisenius joined Freddie Mac in 1992 as director of Portfolio Quality in the Mortgage Credit Policy Department. He was promoted to vice president of the department in 1997. He and his group were responsible for establishing Freddie Mac's credit policies and for analyzing and reporting on portfolio and industry statistics and risk exposures.
Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Bisenius served in a variety of positions with the Federal Housing Finance Board in Washington, DC, and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.
Bisenius holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State University and a B.A. in Economics and Business Communications from Creighton University.
